The skeleton. It holds every other part together - wheels, motors, battery, brain. On a VEX IQ or FLL robot, the chassis is the very first thing you design and iterate. A bad chassis makes everything else harder.

How the robot actually moves. Each wheel is driven by a motor (a smart servo on VEX IQ). Speed, direction, and turning are all just code telling these little motors what to do.

The tiny computer that reads sensors and tells motors what to do. Every line of code you write runs here. It's the difference between a pile of parts and a robot.

Like bat ears. It chirps a sound too high for you to hear, listens for the echo, and tells the brain how far away the wall is. Perfect for obstacle avoidance in autonomous runs.

Where the energy lives. A VEX IQ robot runs on a rechargeable brick. A drone runs on a LiPo. The battery decides how long the robot can keep doing its thing - and how heavy it has to be.

How the robot talks to you. On VEX, the controller beams your joystick inputs to the brain over radio. On a drone, the receiver does the same for the pilot on the ground.
